Here are a few simple guidelines that should make the year run a little more smoothly for both you and me.  There are only a few so I would appreciate it, and in the long run so will you, if you could do your best to follow these simple rules

1.    It would please me to no end if you would bring with you to class everyday the following items:

A.  YOUR TEXT BOOK
B.  YOUR SCIENCE NOTEBOOK (A bound composition notebook)
C.  SOMETHING TO WRITE W/ (NO RED OR ORANGE PENS PLEASE)
D.  YOUR BODY & YOUR MIND
2.     Homework: is important in this class and as such, I collect a fair amount of what you do at home.  Please be sure that your name, the date and your class period go on the page.  Homework counts a good chunk of your grade.  Do a good job on a regular basis and your grade will bump up.  Pretty simple, I know you can handle it.

3.    Notebooks are a big deal in this class.  You need to make sure that you have the following:
A.    A hard cover composition notebook specifically for science.
B.    Please date your notebook everyday and use both sides of the page.  You should try not to skip pages as it makes it tougher to find the notes you are looking for when you need them.
4.     A go-port with the following sections: assignment sheets, homework due, corrected
work, class work, quizzes, tests, and handouts.

5.    Margin notes

6.    GRADING: although I wish it did not matter, it does.  So this is how I will be evaluating your performances:
• Homework: HW can almost always be redone.     • Labs
• Presentations                                                                • Class Behavior/Participation
• Quizzes                                                                           • Projects
• Tests                                                                                • Writing

7.  RESPECT ISSUES: I am going to ask you all to respect each others right to learn.  If on any given day you decide that you are not in the mood to pay attention be mindful of the fact that others may need or even want to pay attention and given them that option.  If anyone forgets this I will be more than happy to remind you.

My office: Room 106     When I teach: Periods 1 & 2 Day A    Periods 1 & 2 Day B
